Cataracts is the discolouration and opacification of the crystalline lens in side the eye. Catracts can develop due to age, systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and atopic dermatitis, trauma, high myopia acute angle closure gluaxoma ect.Symptoms you will experience can include slow progressive vision loss, blurry vision and glare when looking at lights at night.Cataract surgery is the only option to the remove a cataract and improve vision. This procedure is usually an elective procedure and will be done when a patient is symptomatic unless any other pathological indication.
