LASIK FAQ: Can you do both eyes at once?
Can you do both eyes at once?

LASIK: Both eyes on the same day

LASIK is typically a bilateral procedure. LASIK is a very safe procedure and the two eyes are done directly after one another in the same surgical session.

The procedure takes about 10 minutes per eye. This also prevents the discomfort of having one eye that can see perfectly and needing glasses for the other eye. Having your eyes treated like this means that you will have the minimum ‘downtime’. Recovery is so swift that most patients can return to work the next day after the follow-up appointment.

Years ago, surgeons would wait to see the results of the first eye before performing a procedure on the second eye. With modern technology, it is possible for the surgeon to know instantly if there is a hint of a complication before continuing with the second eye.
