FAQ: Can LASIK be done without a blade?

Is there blade-less LASIK?

Blade-less LASIK involves a femtosecond laser that creates millions of micron-sized bubbles at pre-determined positions inside the cornea that gently separate the layers of corneal tissue. This creates a flap within the cornea that your ophthalmologist will gently lift and continue to reshape the cornea with excimer laser pulses. Thereafter your surgeon will fold the corneal flap down into position and smooth out any bubbles.
